Havasupai Elementary School Principal Jamie Hammer has been named Grand Canyon University’s Principal of the Month for September in the category of Innovation.
Mrs. Hammer was recognized for her leadership in strengthening classroom instruction, building collaborative systems for monitoring student progress, and keeping student achievement at the center of schoolwide decision-making.
Her work has included a continued focus on strong Tier 1 instruction, biweekly progress monitoring, and creative approaches to using student data in meaningful ways. Through these efforts, staff members are able to identify student needs, celebrate growth, and adjust support so that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Mrs. Hammer’s leadership also reflects a strong commitment to collaboration. By creating systems that help teachers work together and use data effectively, she has helped build a school culture focused on continuous improvement and shared responsibility for student success.
